Dear CSA Members, Goodness, SO much rain! You just never know what the season holds. Hoping for some dry and sunny days ahead. In your shares this week will be some more cucumbers. They are so juicy and delicious. We have been enjoying then fresh as a snack. Remember there are many different varieties that we harvest. The green is the traditional green slicers, and the yellow, brown, and white are heirloom varieties. Yellows are called the "lemon cucumbers", the whites are called "silver slicer" and the browns are called "poona kherra" cucumbers. They are all very delicious and have a similar flavor. You may not get each kind each week but you will get them as we continue to harvest in the coming weeks. Also, new this week is fennel. There are so many great ways to spice up your traditional meal with this vegetable. Even farmer Pete can make an excellent dish using fennel. Here on the farm we all have grown to love this vegetable. Here are some ideas to help you get out of your comfort zone a little bit. 11 Ways to use Fennel. Early Cabbage will be coming this week as well and it is crispy delicious. Fresh cabbage slaw with red onion, balsamic apple vinegar, and a pinch of sugar! What a fresh delicious side. This goes great with fish. Enjoy this week's harvest! Candice for Everyone at Stoneledge Farm
